Green Smoothie — Coconut Kale Cucumber Avocado

Back on my green smoothie kick and I am definitely going green! I had some kale that needed to be used so I added some cucumbers, avocado, and coconut water. This is definitely an earthy smoothie, and if you don’t love the taste of greens, this may not be the best smoothie for you.

It’s a Green Tea Grapefruit Type of Day!

Last night was awful. The car died, I got lost, and I was so tired I brought home Burger King. Burger King! And I had an organic beef couscous salad planned. Oh well, I will move forward and make it tonight. The Burger King is making me feel a bit off and tired, so I wanted a light energizing shake today.

I decided on a green tea, collard greens, grapefruit and blueberry smoothie.

Here is the recipe:

6 oz green tea
1 ruby red grapefruit
1 tbsp chia seeds
Handful of blueberries
Handful of frozen collard greens
1 scoop RAW Protein Powder

Instructions:

Add them all to a blender and pulse blend until smooth!

Delicious Green Broccoli Rabe Smoothie

This post was supposed to go out last night for recipe tuesday, but I fell asleep. I’m so sorry! Onto the recipe:

I eat a lot of kale, but I’ve started adding different types of greens into my diet. Broccoli Rabe is one of these vegetables. Full of potassium, iron and calcium, Broccoli Rabe is one of the most nutrient dense vegetables available.

For a quick and healthy breakfast, I made a Broccoli Rabe smoothie.

Here’s what you need:

4 oz coconut water
1 large banana
3 oz kefir
.5 bottle of Mamma Chia juice (I used guava)
Handful of frozen Broccoli Rabe (roughly a cup)
1 scoop of RAW protein powder (or any type of protein powder, I like RAW Protein because it has sprouted protein)

Instructions

Place in ingredients in a blender and blend for a minute (or until smooth)

It tastes great and is super healthy, too!
